Short-Term Disability for Mental Health: Get the Support You Need

Struggling at Work? You May Qualify to Use Your Short-Term Disability.

When your mental health makes it difficult—or impossible—to work, Short-Term Disability (STD) insurance benefits can provide temporary financial support while you focus on getting better. Many people don’t realize that mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder can qualify for disability benefits.

If your symptoms are affecting your ability to perform your job, you may be eligible for paid leave while you seek treatment.

Why Might You Need Short-Term Disability?

Short-Term Disability can help if you:

✅ Are experiencing severe depression, anxiety, or PTSD that makes working difficult

✅ Need time off to adjust to new medications or intensive therapy

✅ Have been hospitalized or placed in an intensive treatment program

✅ Are dealing with burnout, panic attacks, or overwhelming stress that affects daily function

✅ Need recovery time after a mental health crisis

Why Do You Need a Psychological Evaluation?

To qualify for Short-Term Disability, your employer or insurance company requires medical documentation proving that your mental health condition prevents you from working. That’s where we come in.

At True Blue Behavioral Health, we provide comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine if you meet the criteria for disability benefits and help you get the paperwork needed for approval.
